Our Data and Methodology
NepalRate exists to give every Nepali, at home or abroad, clear and reliable financial information. We publish exchange rates, remittance comparisons, bullion prices and market data with one rule: every number must be traceable to an authoritative source.
Where our numbers come from
- Official references: the daily reference rates published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), used by licensed banks and counters across Nepal.
- Open market rates: compiled from multiple independent market sources and cross-verified before publication.
- Gold and silver: aligned with the daily bulletin of the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association (FENEGOSIDA).
- Remittance: compared across leading licensed operators such as IME, Prabhu Remit, City Express and eSewa, based on their publicly advertised rates.
- Markets and IPO: compiled from public disclosures and bulletins of SEBON, CDSC and NEPSE.
How we keep it reliable
Every figure on NepalRate carries a visible last-updated timestamp. Our analysts review data quality daily, cross-check sources against each other, and correct any discrepancy as soon as it is identified.
